Delicious Toasted Garlic Bread

Well, this garlic bread is scrumptious! Everything could be made ahead, so all you will need to do is spread your bread with butter, toast it and serve! You may also add shredded mozzarella, but that’s totally optional.

Yields8 Servings

1 crusty loaf of good bread (around 1 lb)
 7 tbsp butter, softened
 1 tbsp olive oil
 2 tbsp Parmesan
 1 ½ tsp garlic, crushed
 1 ½ tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried oregano, basil, italian seasoning or combination of all of these spices
 pinch of paprika
 freshly ground black pepper
kosher salt, to taste (at least 1/4 tsp)
1 cup shredded mozarella or 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan, optional
 parsley leaves for garnish, optional

1

Preheat the broiler to high. Set your oven rack 4" from the broiler.

2

Slice the bread into 1-2" thick slices.

3

Combine the rest of the ingredients together in a small bowl. Taste, and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Spread this garlic butter over your bread slices. Place these on a rimmed baking sheet and broil until the garlic bread is nicely toasted and golden brown. Keep the oven door open and watch closely to avoid burning. This may take around 8 minutes.

4

If desired, top with shredded mozzarella, return back and broil for about a minute or so until the cheese is melted. Serve right away.
