8 tbsp unsalted butter, that's one stick, melted
2 medium bananas (to make 3/4 cup), mashed
3/4 cup pumpkin puree
1 TBSP vanilla
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cloves
3/4 tsp kosher salt
1 egg
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/3 cup chocolate chips

- Preheat Oven: Preheat to 350°F. Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, sugars, spices, salt, pumpkin purée, mashed bananas, egg, and vanilla extract, whisking until smooth.
- Combine and Add Chocolate Chips: Combine flour, baking soda and baking powder in a fine mesh sieve placed on top of the bowl with the wet ingredients. Sift dry ingredients into the wet mixture and fold gently with a rubber spatula. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Fill and Prepare: Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan. Run a butter knife down the center to ensure even rise.
- Bake: Bake for 38-43 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick at 38 minutes—moist crumbs are fine, but there should be no wet batter.
