Ingredients

  • 8 tbsp unsalted butter, that's one stick, melted

  • 2 medium bananas (to make 3/4 cup), mashed

  • 3/4 cup pumpkin puree

  • 1 TBSP vanilla

  • 2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp ginger

  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg

  • 1/4 tsp cloves

  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips

Directions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat to 350°F. Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  • Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, sugars, spices, salt, pumpkin purée, mashed bananas, egg, and vanilla extract, whisking until smooth.
  • Combine and Add Chocolate Chips: Combine flour, baking soda and baking powder in a fine mesh sieve placed on top of the bowl with the wet ingredients. Sift dry ingredients into the wet mixture and fold gently with a rubber spatula. Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Fill and Prepare: Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan. Run a butter knife down the center to ensure even rise.
  • Bake: Bake for 38-43 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick at 38 minutes—moist crumbs are fine, but there should be no wet batter.
  • Cool and Serve: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack. Serve and enjoy!
