I love this delicious and comforting dish. Perfect to make for a dinner party, because once you prep them, all you need to do is bake them when the company arrives.

kcalIngredients
2 TBSP olive oil
2 onions, chopped
4 garlic cloves, pressed
3 pounds of ground meat (a combination of pork (30-50%) and beef (50-70%) is preferred
3 potatoes medium Russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/3 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
salt and pepper to taste
3 double-crusted pie crusts
Directions
- Heat oil in a large heavy bottom skillet. Add onions and cook for 3-5 minutes until translucent. Add the beef and cook for 10 minutes or so, until browned. Crumble the meat with a wooden spoon as you cook, season liberally with salt and pepper. Add potatoes, broth, breadcrumbs, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Bring to a simmer and cook on low, uncovered, maintaining a gentle simmer, stirring frequently. Taste and adjust seasonings to taste. Remove from heat and refrigerate covered for at least 3 hours, or overnight, until completely cool.
- Preheat the oven to 375F.
- Fill each pie with 1/3 of the cooled filling. Cover with the top crust and seal well around the edges to make a tight seal. Make a couple of incisions in the center (to allow the steam to escape.) Bake in preheated oven for 50-60 minutes until steaming hot and the crust is golden brown.
